WRSA was tasked by the Hilo Airport to rehabilitate the Runway 3-21 thresholds and connecting taxiways. The deteriorating condition of the pavements required resurfacing to enhance the safety of aircraft operations. Installation of airfield signs and markings were also part of the improvements and were required to meet FAA certification requirements.
